C&R Racing, Inc. 2005 Indianapolis 500
True Grit Award Winner

Indianapolis, IN - Friday, May 27 Chris Paulsen, President and Owner of C&R Racing, Inc., announced the 2005 True Grit winner.    The recipient is Kyle Moyer, General Manager of Andretti Green Racing.

The award, presented each year at the Indianapolis 500 and the Brickyard 400, acknowledges dedicated crew chiefs and mechanics in the motorsport industry.   Established by Chris Paulsen, the $5,000 total cash award exemplifies outstanding achievement in racing and honors a fellow colleague.

Kyle oversees Andretti Green's four-car IndyCar Series racing operation, which claimed eight victories and a series championship in 2004.   He began his racing career in 1978 with Bettenhausen Racing, Moyer worked with such organizations as Gurney/Curb Racing and Galles-Kraco Racing before joining Forsythe-Green Racing in 1993, where he served as the team manager for Jacques Villeneuve in the Toyota Atlantic Championship.   Moyer made the move to Team Green in 1994 where he earned a CART title and an Indy 500 win with Villeneuve in 1995 and then went on to work for five seasons with Dario Franchitti (1998-2002).   During that stretch, Franchitti notched 10 wins and 11 poles, and posted a career-best runner-up finish in the CART championship standings in 1999.

"I remember when Kyle first came on the racing scene with Gary B (Bettenhausen).   He was a very enthusiastic, hard working kid that started working on sprint cars and quickly moved into the IndyCar world.   He has always been very dedicated to the team he works on and that shows in the great success those teams have had under his guidance.   He is definitely what the True Grit Award is all about," states Chris Paulsen.
