Indianapolis, IN (PRI Show Indianapolis, IN) - C&R Racing, Inc. announces a partnership with British-based Alcon, one of the worlds leading manufacturers of high performance brakes for the motorsport industry, for the exclusive distribution of the Road Course Spec Brakes. Earlier today, the IRL confirmed Alcon as the exclusive manufacturer of the Road Course Spec Brakes for the 2005 IRL IndyCar Ò Series. C&R has committed to stock all of the Alcon IndyCar Ò brakes making them readily available for the IRL teams throughout the season.
"C&R's extensive experience in all levels of motorsports and Alcon's over 20 years experience in the manufacture and supply of racing brake systems makes this a natural partnership," states Chris Paulsen, President and Owner of C&R Racing, Inc.
Alcon has been involved with the IRL for the past three years, and its brake calipers are currently used on ovals by more cars in the IRL IndyCar® series than all other brake manufacturers combined. After thorough evaluation by top IndyCar® Series teams, the 6 piston high strength alloy billet caliper was chosen as the exclusive road course spec brake for the IRL IndyCar® Series. The 325x28mm 48-vane rotors feature Alcon's unique "crescent groove" design. Current Alcon & C&R customers include: Andretti Green Racing, Penske Racing, Ganassi Racing, Fernandez Racing, and MoNunn Racing.
"The Alcon team is extremely proud to have been chosen by the Indy Racing League to be the only provider of road course brakes in the prestigious Indycar® Series. We are particularly excited about Alcon's new partnership with C&R Racing which demonstrates a real commitment to providing the highest level products and customer service to the race teams," said Phil Stubbs, President of Alcon USA.
