Tech Bulletin 06004 – Top Cover Fretting
Date: 3/14/06

On CR1 top cover PN BB1- 004.001 we have had one instance of the shift cam bushings raise in the bore by .047”during running. There was also indications that the top of the shift cams were fretting against the top cover and pulling up a burr. There was no noticeable change in performance from the driver. Fretting was found on disassembly.

We are investigating the cause and will advise on the situation. Please check your top covers for this fretting.
