Jason Scherer – Off-road 4X4 competitive racer, businessowner, and unreserved family man.

C&R is proud to be part of Jason’s recipe for success in the dirt.  

Genuine, all-in competitor and constantly driven to improve, Jason Scherer knows what winning looks like.  Jason’s growing list of high profile finishes within the dirt sports arena is no accident.  He and his team spare no detail as they prepare his single-seat buggy (“The Gavel”) to compete within the toughest elements of rock climbing and the fastest aspects of high-speed desert racing.  Combined with solid family time, Jason ties his business, competition, and personal life into an impressive package.   

Justin Pawlak – Professional Formula D Series Drifter, and all around thrill-chaser.

JTP teamed up with C&R to develop a custom rear radiator set-up for his 2018 Falken Tires Ford Mustang drift car.  

Controlled chaos has been JTP’s addiction since high school,  when he built his first competitive car. JTP continues to be a hands-on driver who does his own mechanical, fabrication and suspension design (which is just part of why C&R loves collaborating with him on projects).  Sure, JTP has notable success in the drift car arena, but he also navigates his way through rock crawling and hot rods, making him well aware of what it takes to keep his vehicles running at top performance in a variety of conditions.

 

Donny Schatz – Champion SprintCar driver, who embodies the definition of being a racer.

With a storied career, triumphant in every major Winged Sprint Car event in the United States, Canada, and Australia, Donny has etched his name in the history books as one of short-track racing’s best.  He expresses an unstoppable drive to compete, with a true appreciation for the people and products around him that perform at their best.  As Schatz enters his 22nd season in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, his passion to win remains un-waivered.  Donny’s enthusiasm for motorsports resonates past his professional career. When not driving behind the wheel of the Tony Stewart Racing No.15 World of Outlaws Sprint Car, he spends time driving his Dirt Late Model race car, with family, and doing all things motorsports related.  C&R is proud to provide Donny’s with cooling products he can depend on.

Billy Johnson – Professional racecar driver and no stranger to being behind the wheel of high-performance vehicles. 

Since his debut in racing at the age of 13, Billy has left his mark across a barrage of road race events. From sportscar to stockcar, road racing to endurance racing, Billy has become a decorated driver at the regional, national and international levels.

When not competing on the track, Billy provides major OEM’s, winning race teams and performance vehicle manufacturers with development support to evaluate and fine-tune high-performance vehicles and improve driver techniques.

Knowing that Billy has a clear view of what it takes to be a winning driver and build top performing vehicles, C&R is proud to partner with him as he prepares to compete in his next World Time Attack race in Australia.  

Ray Evernham “Ghost”

Looks may be deceiving and that is definitely true with this car.  This modified retro racer may look like a showpiece, but it is far from it.  The concept for this car was born out of Ray Evernham’s passion for vintage race cars, respect for innovation and concern for safety.

Final build included C&R cooling components and was showcased at the 2017 SEMA Show.

Ross Robbins’ – 72 Lotus Elan Plus 2

Every good road-trip story starts with a problem and then turns on how the characters in the story solve it. This is a story about an old car, a long trip far from home, and how C&R helped get Ross Robbins on his way to his 1,000-mile rally through the Great Smoky Mountains.

As a seasoned enthusiast of participating in cross county driving tours, Robbins ventured from his home base in Colorado via the long route through northern Minnesota to arrive at the trip’s starting point of Greenville SC, adding 2,000 miles to his journey. During his trip through Wisconsin in his 1972 Lotus Elan Plus 2, Robbins developed a leak in his radiator that worsened until the unit was leaking badly from both side tanks. Ross needed a solution fast, since he was on a tight timeframe to meet up with his wife and continue on to his iconic Great Smokey Mountain Tour scheduled to depart just days later. After failed attempts at finding a nearby radiator shop that could correct the problem, Robbins received a suggestion through his network of automotive contacts to call C&R. Robbins contacted C&R in short order regarding his dire situation, knowing he only had a few days to resolve his issue in order to make his arrival for the Smokey Mountain tour on time. Luckily, C&R had a solution and jumped into action. After collaborating with a local resource to swap components, C&R team was able to provide Robbins with a custom replacement radiator using our flexible manufacturing capabilities. Within 72 hours Robbins was back on the road, reporting that the finished product was not only perfectly sized it was almost a work of art.

’70 LeMans Corvette

Built by Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle, C&R supplied a custom cooling solution for this specialty build.

This special vehicle was first unveiled at the 2016 SEMA Show.

El Laguna

Dale Earnhardt Jr. enlists Ray Evernham to help restore an El Camino, with a Laguna front end. It was not a typical restoration and was certainly a NASCAR performance-worthy project, equiped with C&R cooling components. Ray and the team built the car and then, in a bit of gamesmanship, challenged Kyle Tucker, owner of Detroit Speed, to a series of races against his award-winning Camaro. As always, Ray had an ace up his sleeve in Al Unser Jr. as his driver.

 

Expedition SEMA/1970 Toyota FJ40

Aaron Brown’s aftermarket upgrades included C&R’s advanced cooling componentry.  This Expedition SEMA traveled 25 days and 3,000 miles to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Ford Pantera

This high-performance specialty build is fitted with a Ford Performance 5.0 Coyote Aluminator crate engine and a Cobra Jet intake manifold, with custom C&R extruded tube technology and SPAL fans. Thanks to Gas Monkey Garage and Kurt Busch Inc. for including C&R in this project.
